Questions to consider when assessing your program for improvements you might need.
What data informs the need for improvement?
Who will benefit from improving this need?
What are the root causes of the improvement need (e.g., lack of practitioner skill; lack of resources; lack of administrative support/guidance, etc.)?
How do families and community members perceive the improvement need?
Why focus on this improvement need now?
Building the Case to Target EFFECTIVE PRESCHOOL SERVICES for young children with disabilities
Through our partnership with the Indiana Department of Education and its Office of Special Education, we can provide you with data to help you with the following types of goals:
Increasing the number of preschoolers with disabilities who receive services in regular early education classrooms
Increasing the number of children with disabilities who experience positive learning outcomes, including literacy
Ensuring that the quality, inclusiveness, and impact of special education services are accessible and equitable for all young children.
What can you do?
The link below will take you to a searchable data dashboard in which you can select you district from a drop down menu. Please note the tabs at the top to navigate to each page. The Effective Preschool Services tab provides an overview of your district's efforts to find and provide equitable access to eligible preschoolers, to provide inclusive early childhood special education services, and the impact of services on children.
The How do We Compare tab highlights how well your district does in relation to other districts in terms of the percentage of children receiving inclusive services and the percentage experiencing positive learning outcomes.
